Alvin C. Kahle, age 82, a longtime resident of Swanton, Ohio went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, with his wife of 52 years, Rosalie, at his side. He was born on October 4, 1929, to Clara and John Wesley Kahle. He was an avid golfer and founding member of the Swanton Elks Lodge #2462. Remembering him fondly are his loving wife; daughters, Kathie (Tom) O'Neill, Melissa (Fred) Sturt, and daughter-in-law, Lynn Kahle; 9 grandchildren, Kelcey, Troy, Meredith, Brianne, Ryan, Katie, Jamie, Kristen, Chelsea, and 4 great-grandchildren, Alyson, Jazmyn, Luca, and Ben. Al was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Margaret and Dorothy; brothers, Richard, Donovan, and Donald, and his son, Joseph. Family and friends may gather at calling hours on Saturday, September 1, 2012, from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at St. Richard's Catholic Church in Swanton. An Elk service will be held at the Church at 10:00 a.m. and a mass celebrating Al's life will follow at 11:00 a.m. The family wishes to thank the Swanton Retirement Center, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, and Al's caregivers, Shawna, Kim, and Bonnie for their excellent care.
