Angelina Carmen Hernandez, 89, passed peacefully on Friday, July 16, 2021, surrounded by the love of
her family and friends, under the care of Ashanti Hospice. Born on February 26, 1932 in Houston, Texas,
she was the daughter of Blas and Lillian Apodaca. Angie fell in love and married Lupe Hernandez on
January 28, 1958. They were married for 57 years and together they raised five beautiful children. Angie
was a baptized Jehovah's Witness and dedicated her life to God on August 12, 1972. She was a skilled
beautician and retired at the age of 70. Angie enjoyed time spent with her family and was the backbone
of their beliefs and values. At family gatherings, she would not rest until everyone had a plate in their
hand and a smile on their face.
Angelina is proceeded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Lupe Hernandez; precious sons
Mark, David and Gary Hernandez; and her younger brother Rudy B. Apodaca. She is survived by her
loving daughters, Terry Stein and Anita (Frank) Burch; sisters, Teresa Apodaca and Loretta Trevino;
brother, William (Florida) Apodaca; grandchildren, Chad (Vanessa) Stein, Aaron Stein, Scott (Monica)
Stein, Autumn Stein, Mkenzie Agnew, Katie Hernandez, Rita (Max) Fitch, and Jedidiah Burch; great
grandchildren Jaxon, Mia, Vivian and Ariel Stein; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks and recognition to the devoted staff of Barlow Hall at Sunset
Village for making Angie's final days peaceful and full of loving care. A virtual remembrance of Angie's life
will be hosted in September of 2021.
