Obituary

Anson Edward Crandall II, 18, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2026. He was born June 18, 2008, in Toledo.

A senior at Saint Francis High School with the class of 2027, Anson was a recent inductee of the National Honor Society. He earlier attended the former St. John the Baptist and Blessed Sacrament grade schools, and at St. Francis he was a member of the bowling team and swam with the club swim team. Above all, Anson was a gifted and avid artist, and his creativity was at the very center of who he was. His work was displayed at various places around the community, and it reflected the imagination and care he brought to everything he made. Beyond his art, he loved fishing, skateboarding, and music.

More than anything, Anson was known for his heart. He was a kind and gentle soul, thoughtful and warm with everyone he met, and that gentleness is how he will be remembered by all who loved him.

Anson was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sherry Crandall. Surviving are his mother and aunt, Amber Crandall, who raised him as her own; his uncle, Louie Espino, who helped raise him; grandparents, Floyd Crandall and Elba Espino; brother, McKinsey Billings; sisters, Gracie Espino and Analicia Garcia; uncles, Rodney Cowden and Rob Shrader; aunts, Tammy Crandall, Tiffany Shrader, and Tori Cowden; and many cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd. at Byrne Road, on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 2 to 8 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in Gesu Church, 2049 Parkside Blvd., where the family will receive friends after 10:00 a.m. A private interment will be held at a later date.
