Abney was born to J.C. and Adeline (Jones) Heidelburg on March 23, 1957, in Picayune, Mississippi. She entered into her heavenly rest on July 12, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving family when the Lord allowed his angel to visit his child in her home to take her to Glory. Betty was preceded in death by her mother, father, older brother J.D. Heidelburg and nephews David and Derrick Heidelburg She leaves to mourn her five children: Joell (Brooke) Heidelburg, Jorel (Tia) Heidelburg, Traci (Willie) Heidelburg, Staci Heidelburg and Denise Abney. She leaves behind 13 grandchildren: Donavere, Jabryis, Frankie, Sonte, Lailah, Ta'Niessya, Jasmin, Demarious, Johnavon, D'Abney, Rayshawn Jr., Amani and Nahla.
