With profound sadness we announce the passing of Cecelia (Cia) DeVaughn, our loving and devoted mother, sister and friend. Cia passed away October 15, 2020 at the age of 68 in Spring Meadows Care Center and Hospice. She was born in Toledo, Ohio October 26, 1951 to William and Helen (Atkinson) Nemon. Cia will be sorely missed as she was a very caring person. During the holidays, she would volunteer endless hours serving dinner to the homeless and the needy. She enjoyed music - lots and lots of music. She loved all music from the 60's, 70's and 80's which included lots of dancing with her siblings. Cecelia is survived by her son Robert (Jennette) Brown, 3 grandchildren, (Crystal DeVaughn, Jason DeVaughn and Jaydence Brown) and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Helen Nemon and son Jason DeVaughn. Surviving siblings are Doreen Nemon, Noreen LaLaonde, Donna Ehlers (Duane), William Nemon (Linda), Regina Phelps (Jack), Rinus Urbanus and Gretchen Fleck. All who knew her, loved her dearly and will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm, grace (when pertinent) and undying love and caring for family. A memorial service will be held Monday, October 26, 2020 from 2-4PM at Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, Ohio 43614. A funeral service will begin at 4PM. Burial will be a private affair (family only) at a later date. Service Details.
