Christine "Chris" Canode, 76, of Luckey, passed away at home, Saturday, February 22, 2025. Chris was born Christine J. Van Camp on November 13, 1948 in Toledo, OH to Joy "Mike" and Mary (Bauer) Van Camp. She married Stephen W. "Steve" Canode on June 24, 1972. Chris and Steve celebrated almost 53 years of marriage together.

Chris was a homemaker and babysat for her grandchildren when they were younger. Chris enjoyed sports, only cheering for Ohio Teams her favorite being the Cleveland Indians. Her biggest joy was attending her children then her grandchildren's sporting events whether at a wrestling tournament, softball, baseball, hockey, football or volleyball game. She never missed an event no matter how far away it was. She also enjoyed her monthly lunch dates with her group of special friends.

In addition to her husband Steve, Chris is survived by her daughter's; Amy (Randy) Patterson of Pemberville, Oh and Tracy (Jimmy) Hegemier of Ottawa Lake, MI. Grandchildren Kyle (Justina) Patterson, Riley (Nathan) Gerwin, Brody Patterson, Bradley (Samantha) Hegemier, Brent Hegemier, Emma Douse and Shauntee Hegemier. Great Grandchildren Krew and Kashton Patterson, Lyla and Baby Gerwin, Arleigh and Finn Miller, Sister-in-law Donna Van Camp, many nieces and nephews and her lap dog Tucker. Chris was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Michael "Butch" Van Camp.

Per Chris's request there will be no service at this time, but a Celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
