Dale Francis Bettinger died in his Swanton home on Wednesday July 9th, 2025, with family by his side. He was born September 4th, 1959, in Toledo Ohio to George and Ruth (Beaudry) Bettinger.

Dale graduated from Evergreen High School and started working for B & B Concrete, he then went on to join Lucas County Engineers Road department and retired after 30 years.

He married the late Ruie E Owens on February 7 of 1983 and celebrated 33 wonderful years.

Dale is survived by his stepson Carter (Babette), Owens of Lafayette LA, stepdaughters Mary (Jim) Saxer of Swanton OH and Christine (Ken) Wrobel of Flat Rock MI. 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren

Dale is also survived by siblings Gary (Darlene), Dennis (Lori), Terry (Kathy) Bettinger, Elizabeth (Hugh) Haitt, June (Steve) Stienmetz .

He is also survived by sisters-in-law Pamela and Sherri Bettinger.

Preceding him in death are his parents, brothers George Jr., Keith, Greg, Peter, his wife and stepdaughter Elizabeth Bidwell

Dale and Ruie enjoyed raising beagles and competing in the field trials. They sired 2 grand champions and belonged to the Defiance Beagle Club and went by the name of SWAMP TOWN BEAGLES.

Dale had many friends, and he made a lasting impact on so many people, he never met anyone that he didn't like.

A Celebration of life will be held on Sunday July 20th at the American Legion Post 479
