My son, my son, what have you done ? I know a lot
of people may be upset that I talk about this, but too
bad. Until we all open up and talk about this world
wide tragedy we are not going to fix this problem. My
precious son David lost his battle with drug addiction
today. I found him unresponsive Tuesday evening after
he didn't return my phone call. He went into cardiac
arrest as the paramedics arrived and suffered massive
brain damage. David was an organ donor and wanted
to give the gift of life to someone else in the event of
his death. He will live on in several others and give
them the chance to live on now that he is no longer
here. He became a hero to several people today. While
the loss of my son will never be gotten over; I want
to honor one of his life long dreams. David always
wanted to go to space, he was a super fan of Stephen
Hawking and Neil DeGrasse Tyson. He loved to read
anything he could get his hands on about space and
space exploration. He loved the book and movie The
Martian. He wanted to be an astronaut and be one
of the first people to go to Mars. He really enjoyed
anything and everything dealing with space. We are
sending David's ashes to space so that he can forever
be among the stars that he loved so much. David
had a very hard life struggling in the last several years
with his addiction. Between his medical problems and
his addiction he didn't get the opportunity to do very
much that was just for pleasure. We are pleased to say
that the fundraiser that we established for David was
successful and he will be going to space on the next
available launch.
