Dawn earned a Bachelor of Science in Studio Arts from the University of Toledo and Art Education/Philosophy at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she studied drawing, making, pottery, and metalsmithing. She was a long-time member of art organizations, such as the Toledo Potter's Guild and Toledo Area Artists. She was a past participant and judge of the Crosby Garden's Art Festival. Dawn brought the world of art to youth and was fondly known as the "art lady" at Washington Local schools. After raising her sons Eric and Mathew, Dawn was employed at Gilbert Mail Service for nearly 20 years as a graphic arts designer. She was a gifted knitter, and in her retirement, she spent many hours creating beautiful treasures for others.
