Obituary

Dennis Michael Reid, 56, of Monroe, Michigan passed away in the early morning on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at ProMedica Ebeid Hospice Residence in Toledo, Ohio. He was born on February 20, 1963 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Arthur R. and Miriam R. Reid. Dennis enlisted in the United States Navy as an active duty sonar technician in May of 1986. He was an SGT1 E6 who served on both the USS Harold E Holt and the USS Milius. During his time in the service he received many honors, including but not limited to a National Defense Service Medal, two Armed Forces Expeditionary Medals, five Sea Service Deployment Ribbons, an ASIA Service Medal, and four Good Conduct Medals. He was honorably discharged in February of 2003, after 16 years of faithful duty. After his service he went on to receive degrees in Computer Science from both The University of Toledo and Monroe Community College. In his free time he enjoyed golfing, playing around on his computer, and spending his time relaxing with his dog Tallie. He will be remembered by all for his funny stories Dennis is survived by his nieces Nicole Pfleiderer (Matt), Heather Reid, Tiffany Reid, Brittany Reid, nephew Brandon Reid (Saylor), great-niece Josephine Huskins, great-nephews Zane Pfleiderer and Levi Huskins, sister-in-law Pamela Reid, and lifelong friends Jimmy Cecil and Katrina Miller. All of who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his sister Mary Reid, brothers Daniel Reid (Pamela) and Robert Reid, who passed away shortly after birth. A memorial for Dennis will be put on by the United States Navy at Great Lake National Cemetery at a later time.
