Douglas K. Werner, 59, of Toledo passed away April 14, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 5, 1957 in Toledo, Ohio. Doug was the son of Donald Werner and Kay (Kramer) Werner. He worked as an air quality control technician for the state of Ohio for 30+ years. Doug was a big sports fan. His favorite teams were the Buckeyes, Tigers, and Bears. Doug also spent many years coaching his sons' baseball teams. He loved fishing, grilling, listening to classic rock, and working on cars. Doug could fix just about anything and those who knew him referred to him as Mr. Fix-it. If he couldn't fix it, there was a You-Tube video that would teach him how. Above everything, Doug lived for his children and grandchildren. Doug was preceded in death by his fathers; Donald Werner and Robert Gilson, sister; Donna Werner, and his dog; Lucy. He is survived by his loving wife; Terri(Rine)Werner, mother; Kay Gilson, sons; Adam (Haylee) Werner, Paul (Krista)Werner, Matt (Brittany)Werner, daughters; Sarah(Chester) Werner, Maryssa Werner, sister; Jan (Roger) Gilson, Brothers; David Hill, Gary(Linda) Hill, 9 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, and life-long friends; Mark, Terry, Jim, and Pam. The family will receive friends and relatives at Bersticker- Scott Funeral Home 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd. at Byrne Road on Tuesday April 19, 2016, 2-8pm, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 20, 2016 at 11am.
