Evelyn V. Daniels was born and raised in Detroit Michigan. Sister Constance Vitale and brother Donald Sherry preceded her in death. Sister Geraldine lives in Henderson, Nevada. Evelyn met her husband, John Paul Daniels, at a Detroit dance hall when she was just fourteen. Shortly after the two met John was deployed overseas in the military leaving Evelyn with a promise of his return and marriage after her eighteenth birthday. The couple eloped to Angola, Indiana and married on December 13th, 1941. They moved to Carleton, Michigan where they built a house and adopted their daughter, Margaret Ellen. Evelyn worked in a clerical position until her retirement in 1989. John went to heaven in 1973 and Evelyn spent the rest of her life devoting most of her time and energy to her daughter and two grandsons, Christopher John and Daniel Mark Paquette. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, playing cards, collecting miniature clocks, eating chocolate and dancing especially to big band music. Evelyn was always the life of the party. She laughed until she cried and was upbeat and positive. Her heart was full of love for her family. As dementia stole her memory she continued with fond recollection of her husband and always said he was waiting for her "up there". She adored her daughter Marge and her great grand daughter, Evelyn Rae, who is her namesake. Evelyn had a second great grand daughter, Eleanor, who was born in December. Evelyn was included in as many family/friend functions, parties and activities as possible until her advanced disease made it too difficult for her to participate. Evelyn touched many lives and everyone loved her sense of humor, wit, energy and feisty attitude. She spent the last four years in long term care until her unfortunate death. She will be sadly missed by many people that loved and cared for her. Her family and friends will celebrate Evelyn's life in the spring.
