Genia M. Hernacki passed away peacefully on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Heartland of Waterville, after a brief illness. She was 57. The daughter of Eugene and Cora Hernacki, Gina, as she was known to everyone, was born on September 8, 1958, at Women and Children's Hospital, Manila, Philippines. She graduated from Rogers High School in 1976 where she was Homecoming Queen. With a passion for drawing and painting she went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The Ohio State University. She blessed her family with her beautiful artwork. Gina was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother. She is survived by her parents, Eugene and Cora Hernacki, daughter Erika (Justin) White, son Justin (Bria) Tibbits, 5 dearly loved grandchildren, brothers Fred (Sherry) Hernacki and Christopher Hernacki, sisters, Karen Payne, Teresa (Wallace) Peoples, and Sandra (Al) Pietrzak, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church located at 104 W. Broadway, Maumee, OH. A luncheon will follow at Scott Park Banquet Hall located at 2541 Nebraska, Toledo, OH.
