Obituary

Our Henrietta Louise (Stawny) Hummer, 63, left us suddenly by suffering an apparent cardio-pulmonary arrest on late Monday evening, October 10, 2016. Henrietta, a lifelong Toledoan, possessed a lively personality. Even though various health issues in her later years required her to receive care at Concord Care Center on Glanzman Road, Toledo, her friendly, strong and sassy personality remained intact. She was always game for a fun time and maintained a positive attitude on life. She had a deep and loyal love for family. She especially enjoyed going out to eat, visiting family and weekend visits from her sister Rosemary. Henri was born on December 9, 1952 in Mercy Hospital to Stanislaw (Stanley) and Genowefa (Genevieve) (Liszaj) Stawny who had recently arrived in America from Poland. She attended the former St. Francis de Sales Grade School and graduated from the business education program at the former Whitney Vocational High School. She worked in various clerical positions, mainly at the Toledo Zoo as well as with the City of Toledo's Police and Public Utilities Departments before retiring on disability. She married Robert Hummer, had two beloved children, Angela Renee and Mathew Carl, and still retained Bob as a special friend following their divorce. Preceding her in death were her parents, stepfather Joseph R. Nichols, brother David (Dennis) Nichols, and grandson Aaron L. Hummer. Surviving and deeply mourning her loss are: Daughter Angela and son Mathew (and Loretta) of Toledo, and granddaughter Asia of Toledo. Sisters include Barbara Utenker (formerly Lusher) of Indianapolis, Helen (Wayne) Schall of Adrian, Cecilia (Ken) Knoke of Adrian and Rosemary (Jim) Flury of Northwood. Nieces and nephews include Todd Lusher (and Jennifer) of Lawrenceville, GA, Anne (Terry) (Lusher) Windmiller of Bonner Springs, KS, Heather (Steve) (Schall) Sokasits of Madison, WI, Nicole (Chris) (Schall) Plotner of Chicago, Benjamin Schall (and Jessica) of Cement City, MI, Valerie (Michael) (Knoke) Griffen of Ypsilanti, Stephanie (Mark) (Knoke) Bielaska of Ann Arbor and Jason Knoke of Adrian.
