James Lawrence Brown, known by his friends and family as "JB" or "Jim," 75, of Maumee, Ohio passed on November 8, 2015, with his family by his side at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. Jim was born to Walter and Vera (Mayer) Brown on January 23, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio. We've been told by Jim's sister, Carey and his brother, Bob, that Jim was a mischievous young man; always in search of some good fun. Jim married his high school sweetheart, Mary Lou Grathwol on September 19,1959, at Little Flower church Toledo, Ohio. He joined Local 50 Plumbers and Pipe-fitters Union, where he learned and honed his trade as a plumber. Over the years he worked with several local contractors supervising large commercial projects. He retired in 1998. Jim and Mary Lou raised 4 children, Brenda "Susie," Deborah "Oogie," Cynthia "Rinn" and James II "Buzz." Jim rarely called his children or grandchildren by their given name, rather he gave them all affectionate nicknames. He had a fond appreciation for lake life, teaching all of his kids to swim and water ski at an early age. Many memories have been made at the lake. He also enjoyed going to the Smoky Mountains, appreciated nice cars, red trucks, country/bluegrass/gospel music, Mama C's donut shop and the "Gang," golfing and spending time with his family.
