James Douglas Frankforther

September 26, 1960 – July 8, 2025

James Douglas Frankforther, 64, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on July 8, 2025. A devoted father, son, husband, and friend, Jim's warm spirit, skillful hands, and deep love for family and music touched the lives of many. Born on September 26, 1960, in Toledo, Ohio, Jim graduated from Perrysburg High School and went on to study at Penta Career Center for mechanics and stereo repair. He later continued his education at Owens Community College, where he pursued his passion for electrical work and earned his CDL license.

Throughout his life, Jim was known as a hardworking and talented tradesman. He was a skilled mechanic and electrician who worked for Pallet World Inc., Welch's Golf Carts in Perrysburg, and earlier in his life, at a record store at Southwyck Mall in 1978. His dedication to his craft and his passion for music made him a unique and memorable presence wherever he went.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann Frankforther; his daughters, Rachael and Allison Frankforther; his mother, Phyllis Frankforther; his brothers, Richard Frankforther and Dave Frankforther; his nephew, Chris Frankforther; and his dear friend and neighbor, James Hill.

He was preceded in death by his father, Selbert Frankforther of Perrysburg; David Nevins of Rossford; and Judith Frankforther of Whitehouse.

Jim loved working on cars, traveling, and listening to music, things that brought him peace and joy. His sense of humor, hard work, and dedication to family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A funeral service will be held at Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Boulevard, Toledo, Ohio, on Saturday July 26th, 2025, at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations toward funeral expenses and to support the family can be made directly to the funeral home.

Jim's legacy lives on in the memories shared by all who knew and loved him.
