"The Merritt family has sadly lost a legend. Jeffrey A. Merritt, loving husband, brother, and father, passed at the age of 69 on April 28th, 2023. He lived a full life, touched many hearts, and left lasting memories with everyone he met. Jeffrey will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 40 years, Laura; children, Rodney (Kristin), Bobbie, and Hannah (Vanessa); grandchildren, Brody, Logan, William, Natalie, and Willow; siblings, Tyler, Andy, Della (Rick), and Jeremy (Darla); and numerous other family and friends. Jeffrey was preceded in death by his parents, Brettie and Robert; siblings, Bobbie, Rodney, Bart, and Bret; niece and nephews, Michelle, Justin, and Andrew. He proudly served and became a veteran of the U.S. Army. Over the years, he worked various jobs and retired from his true passion of truck driving. He enjoyed shooting pool and morel mushroom hunting and was a dedicated fan of the Detroit Tigers. But his greatest joy was spending every moment he could with the love of his life, Laura. He brought laughter, endless love, and unforgettable moments to his family. He will be missed every day."
