Jessie Burton
Miller
Feb 7, 1955 — Apr 22, 2026
Jessie Burton Miller, aged 71, of Perrysburg, Ohio, unexpectedly passed away on April 22nd, 2026 due to a cycling accident that occurred ten days prior. He was born on February 7th, 1955, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Eloise Wilson-Miller and Henry Dee Miller. Later, Jessie and his two siblings were adopted by their paternal grandparents Georgia and Jessie Dee Miller.
Jessie is survived by his wife, Edna Mae Lambert, of 46 years, his children Tyler Miller and Bellamy Miller, brothers George and wife Terisa Miller (Texas), and Tony Wilson (Seattle, Washington), sister Pattyann and Marc D'Amore (New Mexico), many loving nieces and nephews, as well as his aunts Renetta Wison (Texas), Dolly Langston (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma). He is preceded in death by his adopted grandparents Georgia and Jessie D. Miller, Eloise Wilson-Miller-Smith, Henry Dee Miller, Uncle Marvin Wilson, and his sister Lila Mae Miller-Wilson-Tremble.
In his youth, Jessie was an Eagle Scout and had attained the "order of the Arrow", which is described as an "official program activity of the scouting America, intended to recognize those scouts who best exemplify the scout virtues of cheerful service, camping, and leadership." In the years that followed, Jessie had become a lifelong and gifted athlete that enjoyed swimming, cycling and running. He set the Oklahoma state record for a butterfly event and also regularly competed in marathons, cycling and Iron Man events. He always finished in the top tier of his age group.
Jessie was a core part of several groups, including TAB and F3 (faith, fellowship, fitness) for seven years, and was an avid member of a Bible study group simultaneously. He made friends everywhere he went, and regularly kept in touch with them all. Jessie said that he would be at the airport in various states from time to time and people would come up to him just to say "hello". Jessie loved everyone he met, and always would lend a helping hand.
Some of the little things Jessie enjoyed in life–physical activity related adventures aside–included homemade popcorn, reading novels, turtle sundaes from Mr. Freeze, and watching television shows and movies with his family.
Due to his outstanding health in life, he was able to donate several of his organs, even despite his age, thereby helping others even in his wake.
Jessie always had a smile on his face, a kind word to give, and was willing to help anyone who needed it. He will be sorely missed by everyone that knew him.
A memorial service is being scheduled for August 1st, 2026 at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, Kentucky. Burial will be at the Lambert Family Cemetery off of James Kinster Road Olive Hill, Kentucky and a reception will follow.
