BENNETT John T. John T. Bennett, 67 of Toledo, Ohio passed away February 18, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. John was born on April 26, 1947, in Toledo, Ohio to Gerald and Margaret (Faber) Bennett. John served proudly in the U.S. Coast Guard for 4 years and owned and managed Bennett's Food Center. John enjoyed fishing, Tai-Chi, massage therapy, reading, alternative medicine and walking. Surviving are his daughter, Cherie Byrd; brothers, James (Jackie) Bennett and Ron Bennett. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, and his dearest friend since childhood, John Galambos. The family will receive friends at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd. at Byrne Road on Sunday, February 22, 2015, after 3:00 p.m. where Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. The family suggests memorials in lieu of flowers to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
