LeRoy Thoman Lee Thoman, 89, finished his life on July 5, with his wife and daughter holding his hands. One of Jehovah's Witnesses since his baptism in 1946, Lee served as an elder in the Manhattan Congregation for many years. He is also remembered for teaching Auto Mechanics at Whitmer High School. Lee is survived by Barbara, his wife of 67 years, daughter Leetha (Larry) Mattox, and a brother Mel (Gloria) of Texas. The family appreciates very much the loving care given by Heartland Hospice and by Genesis Health Care Center of Sylvania during the final part of his life, and by his Outstanding Special Nephew, Brian Lusher. Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 15 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1722 Cherry Street, with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Provide comfort for the family by planting a tree in memory of Leroy E.
