One of the best has changed addresses.

Taking her first breath on March 3, 1966, Lori came into this world as the daughter of Dannie and Janet Harrison. Lori was the 4th of 5 children born to Dannie and Janet.

On July 19, 2026, God took Lori home after a long, courageous battle with MS and a recent discovery of cancer. Michelle, Lori’s niece, so adequately posted about Lori: “Life dealt her a difficult hand, but she never let it steal her smile or her sense of humor. No matter what she was facing, she always found a way to laugh and make everyone around her smile”.

On this sad day in July, Lori’s father (Dannie Harrison), Granny (Estelle Kehrer), Gramps (Edward Kehrer), Grandfather (Stanley Palinski), Grandparents (Frank and Helen Harrison), and close aunt (Carol Harrison) were waiting at heaven’s gate. For them, this was a day of great jubilation. Jesus gave Lori a new body free of disease, pain, or sorrow. And, as a bonus, she will have great hair days for eternity.

Lori leaves behind those who still have work to do:

♦ Mother, Janet Palinski. Janet loved Lori in her own special way. To have a child go before you in not easy. Lori was Janet’s “Baby Girl”.
♦ Husband of 42 yrs. Kevin (Ike) Saunders. Ike stood by and cared for Lori their entire marriage (and even before that). When the marriage vow “In sickness and in Health” was made, Ike did not disappoint. The “health” part of this vow can be mostly easy; however, true love is tested in the “sickness” portion. Ike aced that test, giving Lori what she needed the entire time.
♦ Two sons: Jason (Vanessa) Saunders, and Allen (Amanda) Saunders. Lori loved these boys more than life itself. She was proud of the men they became and very thankful for the blessings they brought her. She spoke of them often and always with a glean in her eyes and a smile on her face. She supported these boys their entire lives, always allowing them to have their adventures. She loved getting the photos and hearing the stories in real time.
♦ Three grandchildren: Weston and Wyatt Saunders (sons of Allen and Amanda) and Estelle Saunders (daughter of Jason and Vanessa and named after Granny). To Lori, there were no better grandkids anywhere. She loved sharing their pictures and boasting about their accomplishments. These three were her greatest treasures here on Earth.
♦ Four siblings: Mick (Sharon) Harrison (oldest and craziest brother), Suzanne (Tony) Bowles (older and only sister – lifetime best friend), Mark (Laura) Harrison (older and most favorite middle brother), and Randy (Tammy) Harrison (younger brother – the brother she protected in the younger years).
♦ Special cousin, Angie Plentz. Angie and Lori were more than cousins; they had a bond like sisters. Angie was someone Lori could call at any time, and Angie would come running. Lori had a special love for this “brat” of a cousin (Lori’s words – not mine).
♦ Special Aunt, Diane Welch. Diane and Lori had a special connection. Towards the end, Diane was there with the best gift ever. Time and affection, which included a refreshing shower, for this favorite niece of hers
♦ Special Uncle and Aunt, Kenny and Marianne Palinski. These two have always been there for Lori, in the younger days when she was a young mom up until the end. They never stopped showing up.
♦ Sister-in-Law Marcia (Mike) Miller. Throughout the years they were there, even the moment Lori went home to Jesus. Marcia so beautifully read Psalms 23; the last prayer Lori heard here on Earth. A heartfelt reminder of how good our God is. Sister-in-Law Janet (Gary) Rittichier. They kept Lori in their prayers, giving her and Ike strength through the years. Prayers that will not stop, especially in times such as these.
♦ Mother-in-Law Elaine Saunders (Father-in-Law Verlin previously passed) loved Lori like her own daughter. Elaine always admired the fact Lori stuck with Ike, making him a better man. Elaine is not one to give up; it seems Lori may have picked up some of her fighting attitude from Elaine.
♦There are also several other nieces/great nieces, nephews/great nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends too numerous to name individually. All these people, in one-way-shape-or-form, were positively impacted by the fact Lori lived on this earth.

It is difficult to sum up the 60 years we had with Lori with so few words. So much love, courage, patience, long suffering, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control were lived and felt through her. This woman did not complain; she enjoyed life to the fullest, the best she could. She appreciated what was good; she cherished the people and moments that really mattered. She was a giver and a friend. She saw the best in people. She was a living example of what was right with this world. She was never too busy for you; she always remembered a special day or event, never letting anyone forget how important they were. We will always remember her smile, her sarcastic jokes, her sense of humor, and her appreciation for life itself. In the end, she tried, really tried hard; but when God called her home, she went. 

The world is different now; but heaven is now better. Until we meet again.
