Reflections from the Life of Marsha Maclin Bostic Carwell
Sunrise July 27, 1949 Sunset August 15, 2026
Marsha Bostic Carwell departed this earthly life on Saturday, August 15, 2026. Marsha was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 27,1949. Marsha married Kenneth Bostic on May 18,1973 and later to Curtis Carwell November 9, 2006.
She learned at an early age the importance of family and God from her parents Carol and Lewis Maclin. She graduated from grade school at St. Phillips Evangelical Lutheran School and from Jesup W. Scott High School in Toledo, Ohio. She was a member of Indiana Avenue Missionary Baptist Church.
She was a homemaker before earning an Associate Degree in Travel. Marsha's interest in travel and aviation led her to learning how to pilot airplanes. She continued her interest in travel, working for Northwest Airlines as a gate agent. She eventually worked for Pace and later Sam's Club in customer service and managing the jewelry department.
Marsha enjoyed her family, traveling and playing cards, especially bid whist. She hosted many family holidays where we looked forward to her cooking and especially her pineapple upside-down cakes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carol J. and Lewis Chester Maclin, husband Kenneth Bostic, husband Curtis Carwell, brother Lewis Cedric Maclin, her cousin and 'partner in crime' Evelyn Stewart Smith.
She will be cherished and missed by her siblings sister Sandra (Carnell) Walker, brothers Langston Maclin and Paul Maclin, her daughters Sharcy and Carol Bostic, nephew Jacob Maclin, niece Shavonne (Joseph) Maclin-Coffman, niece Gail Walker, niece Marcia (Benjamin) Olabisi, grandchildren Dominique Bostic, Heaven Bostic Brooks, Nevaeh Bostic, Alisha Bostic, and Ezekiel Bostic, two great-nephews, a great niece and a host of cousins and friends. Marsha called Dominique her "right arm" as she cared for her 'Nana', especially during her later years.
Marsha will be remembered for her quick wit, keen hearing and great sense of humor.
