Obituary

Masuyo Itosu Weithman, age 73, of New Washington, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. She was born on September 16, 1949 in Okinawa, Japan to the late Niaki Motoe and Aiko Itosu. Masuyo was employed in manufacturing at PECO II and Crest Bending, Inc. She had a special love for her grandchildren, enjoyed taking care of her flowers and plants, playing bingo, and cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes Football team. Masuyo married Robert Weithman on May 1, 1970 and 5 months later moved to the United States. She is survived by children, Tony Weithman of New Washington, OH, LeeAnn (Jim) Ruffing of Attica, OH, and Lana (Tom Bassett) Webster of Tecumseh, MI; 2 granddaughters, Makenna Webster and Brylee Ruffing; 3 step-grandchildren, Allison Ruffing, Kelsey Ruffing, and Tommy Bassett; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Katsue Hall of Tucson, AZ; Teichiro Motoe of Okinawa, Japan; Atsuko Miyahira of Okinawa, Japan; Jyunji Motoe of Okinawa, Japan; Rumiko (Ronald) Lepes of Tucson, AZ; Yukihiro Katsuta of Okinawa, Japan; In-Laws, Thomas Weithman of New Washington; Paula Price of Willard; William Weithman of Galion; Melissa (Scott) Hancock of Columbia, SC and several nieces and nephews. Masuyo is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert; sister, Yoko Itosu; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Eugene and Carol Weithman, sister-in-law, Chris Weithman, and brother-in-law, Willard Price. Honoring the decedent's wishes, there will be no formal services.
