Maxine J. (Romine) McCormick October 17, 1919 - March 22, 2015 Maxine McCormick joined her heavenly family after passing peacefully at New Life Hospice in Lorain, Ohio on March 22, 2015. The last of her generation of the Samuel & Ada (Kerns) Romine family, Maxine was the youngest of five children and resided in Toledo for the past 52 years having moved to be closer to family just this past October. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, William (Bill) McCormick and daughter, Barbara (Tom) Code of Westlake, Ohio. Grandchildren, Michael (Michelle) O'Brien, Lisa O'Brien & Erin (Fumni) Owoade. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Anna, Wyatt, Selah, Samuel, Vivian, Viola & William who continually brought her great joy along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two children, David McCormick in 2010 and Janet McCormick in 2011 both of Toledo whom she lovingly cared for and missed every day. Maxine retired from Maumee High School and also worked for the Toledo School of Nursing. She was a quiet, kind, gentle soul with a strong faith known by all who knew her. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards and was an avid reader. She had a love for animals and rescued many during her lifetime. A memorial service will be held at the Church of St. Andrew on Heatherdowns in Toledo, Ohio on April 18, 2015 at 10:30am.
