Nathan "Nate" Earl Sims transitioned from this earthly place to his eternal home in heaven on Thursday March 19th, 2020 at 7:45pm surrounded by his loving family, he was just 40 years old. Nate has Always been a fighter, with cancer it was no different…he courageously fought his battle with cancer head-on and he never backed down. Despite the many times doctors said he would not make it, Nate would proved them wrong and would began to bounce back. His journey was nothing short of a miracle! Nathan's faith grew ever stronger as his illness advanced. God knew how much his body had endured and finally called him home - "Welcome home my good and faithful servant!"
Nathan was born on September 12, 1979 in Findlay, Ohio to Queen Annette Sims and the late Nathan Earl Duckett.
Nathan had been employed with Woodbridge in Fremont for the past 7 years. He was a loving brother, good friend and dedicated father, with his number one love being his kids and family. Nate enjoyed woodworking, riding his motorcycle, and working on cars with his brother Kendrick in his spare time .
Left to cherish his memory are his mother Queen Sims, Grandparents Catherine and Richard "Lowe" Montgomery, his children Kamara, Nathan III, Natalie, Noah, Navayah, and Nolan. Siblings Kendrick (Jennifer) Sims, Natalie (Sims) Perkins, Venessa Holmes, Vonni Maclin, caregiver Mindy Metcalf, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who cared and loved him more than any words could ever say.
Nathan was preceded in death by his father Nathan Sr., his maternal grandparents Naomi Walker Sims and Cornelius Sims, grandfather Martin Duckett Sr., and brother Isaiah Robinson.
Out of respect for his final wishes, no services will be held at this time. A celebration of life will take place at a later date, to be announced by family. Please keep his big smile and your memories of him close to your heart.
