Obituary

Norman R. Galliher, 68, of Rocky Ridge, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio's Ebeid Center following a brief illness. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born on February 24, 1958, to Stanley and Ida (Caines) Galliher, Norman was a graduate of Oak Harbor High School and Penta Vocational School. He spent many years working in the construction and masonry industry and was known as a hardworking man who could fix just about anything. A true handyman, Norman was always willing to lend a hand and put his skills to use.

Outside of work, Norman enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved fishing, was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and enjoyed listening to his favorite music, especially Elvis Presley and Alan Jackson. These were the things that brought him happiness and made him who he was.

Norman was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alma Galliher, who passed away on February 25, 2020; his son, Norman Galliher II; his daughter, Amy Tingley; his parents, Stanley and Ida Galliher; his sister, Ida Jeanice Galliher; and his brother, Stanley Galliher.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Crystal (Jon) Ottney and Amanda (Brian) Sarnes; his sons, Jason (Valerie) Galliher and Corey Galliher; his sisters, Debbie (Randy) Nickle, Theresa Bennett, Patti Allen, and Carolyn Bussey; and his brothers, Jimme Galliher and Robert (Jackie) Galliher. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, who will carry his memory in their hearts for years to come.

Though Norman's passing leaves an immeasurable emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him, the memories he created, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave will never be forgotten. He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love of family, his many talents, and the things that brought him joy.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
