Roseann Swiergosz (Buck), 67, died peacefully at home on October 5, 2017 after a long battle with breast cancer. With her throughout her struggle and at the end was her loving companion of many years, Brian McDonough. Roseann is survived by her sisters Marcia (Swiergosz) Guinan and Marilyn (Swiergosz) Osborne; nieces, Mary (Guinan) Condon, Mariah (Osborne) Papke, Elyse (Osborne) Simko; and nephews Martin, Michael, Matthew, and Paul Swiergosz and Steve Guinan, and numerous grand nieces and nephews she enjoyed and loved very much. Roseann lived a full and varied life where she made many friends along the way. Educated at Notre Dame Academy, earned her bachelors and masters degrees from The University of Toledo, and studied film at UCLA. She put her life into her work. She taught government at Clay High School, worked as a guidance counselor at St. John's Jesuit High School, and as marketing director at the Valentine Theatre for many years, followed by several years as the executive director of The Bologna Performing Arts Center at Delta State University in Mississippi. Most recently she was the executive director of the Grand Theatre at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. In these endeavors, she brought joy to the lives she touched. Roseann was proud of her Polish heritage, had a passion for classic films, musical theater, and loved to learn about the founding fathers of our country. There wasn't a Robert Mitchum or Errol Flynn movie she could pass up. She was an avid lover of the beach. She is preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Rose Swiergosz; brother Joseph; brother-in-law James Guinan; and niece Anne Guinan. She is a sweet, loving and gentle soul and she will be missed for her wit, good nature and kindness. In lieu of flowers please direct any donations to Hospice of Northwest Ohio in her name. There will be no formal service at her request. A celebration of her life has been planned for Saturday, October 21 at 5:30 at Stone Oak Country Club (100 Stone Oak Blvd, Holland, Ohio ).
