Obituary

Samuel Glenning Kinsey age 59 of Tecumseh, MI, passed away May 26, 2015 at Toledo Hospital. He was born June 10, 1955 in Detroit, MI, son of Lorraine (Kovach) and Louis Glenning Kinsey. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, half-sister Joanne Shaner of Washington state and his father-in-law William (Mildred) Northrup of Saline, MI. Sam married his wife Wendy (Northrup) in Vail Colorado March, 22, 1988. She survives with their two daughters, his 'angels', Kaitlyn Ivy Kinsey born Nov. 25, 1994 and Juliana Rose Kinsey born Dec. 4, 1998. All reside in Tecumseh. Sam also leaves behind his step family, Steven West, Nadine (Mike) McMullen, Jan West and brother-in-law Norman (Terry) Sauer of Monroe, MI. Sam was a career over-the-road truck driver and had friends in every corner of the country. He was happiest behind the wheel and always like seeing what was around the next corner and over the next hill. Sam loved telling long stories, listening to music and playing guitar, golfing with 'dad' and hunting and fishing. Next to his 'girls' he most loved his 'puppies', past and present: Max, Odie, Sera, Gus-Gus, Pebbles, Popcorn, Gracie and 'Daddy's little Maggie Monster'. Over the last 30 years Sam worked for United Van Lines in Kalamazoo and Ann Arbor, Roadway Express/YRC out of Ypsilanti, Toledo and Coldwater. He also drove for a time out of Texas and Colorado. Sam was currently driving for J. Bauer Trucking out of Wisconsin. His body was cremated at his request and will be laid to rest at Brookside Cemetery in Tecumseh. A memorial service has not yet been scheduled. The family is asking drivers and co-workers who knew him across the country to share their thoughts of Sam with us. Sam has left a place in the lives of his wife and daughters that can never be filled. We love and miss him. Sam loved to talk with his buddies while crossing the country, and they will miss him, too.
