Steven Arthur Harrison, age 63, born November 9, 1956, passed away peacefully in his home on November 11, 2019. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 34 years, Teresa (Hayes Minnich), his two daughters, Amanda Wallace and Jennifer Harrison, his son-in-law, Tony Wallace, his grandchildren, Addison and Emma Dickman and Jackson Wallace, his parents, Ellwood and Sally Harrison, and his brothers, Jeffery and Gregory Harrison. Steve was a 1974 graduate from Waite High School and a 2001 graduate from Bowling Green State University. He was a recently retired Firefighter II/EMT-B with the Perrysburg Township Fire Department. He was a beloved substitute teacher for area schools, as well as an instructor at Owen's Community College in the Fire/EMT department. His passion for serving others started early, as he enlisted in the United States Army in 1974. He served a total of 9 years, including 2 years of active duty with a tour in East Berlin, Germany and received numerous medals and awards. He was a courier and City Service Supervisor for DHL for 13 years. Steve was also a train enthusiast, working on the Bluebird Passenger Train as an engineer and conductor for 10 years. He was a hero and mentor to many with all of the different hats he wore. His humor, disposition, and wisdom will be greatly missed. Visitation and memorial service will be held at Grace United Methodist Church in Perrysburg on November 23, 2019. Visitation will be 1:00-4:00pm. Christian, Military Honors, and Firefighter Memorial Service at 4:00pm, with dinner for all guests to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Steve Harrison Memorial Scholarship at Owens College to support students in the Fire/EMS field in which Steve taught.
