Obituary

Wallace William Ward was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 23, 1941 and died on April 14, 2024 in St. Vincent's Hospital in Toledo at the age of 83.

He was active in summer softball coached by his father, Denis E. Ward and played in the position of "catcher".

After attending Trilby Elementary School, he attended Whitmer Junior High and graduated in 1959 from Whitmer Senior High School where he was a member of the Panthers' Wrestling Team.

Shortly after graduation he traveled to California and attended community college and briefly served in the US Army Reserves. A few years later he moved back to Toledo and married the former Linda Firsdon, his sister Denise's friend.

Kyle William Ward was then born to the couple on April 27, 1989, as their first and only child. Wallace in his later years returned to attend school again and became a Registered Nurse (RN) which he worked as until his retirement. He and family would attend Lewis Avenue Baptist Church in Temperance, Michigan. His favorite scripture was John 3:16.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Ward on March 1, 2024, younger sister, Denise Cupino Ward on March 9, 2004; and father Denis E. Ward on December 10, 1986 and his mother, Marie Fatima Ward (nee Rinna) on July 21, 2004. He is survived by his son, Kyle Ward, older brother, Denis A., (Pam) Ward, and younger brothers Gene (Faredah) Ward, and Jan (Shirley) Ward, and younger sister Janine (Maria) Ward.

A private family service will be held pending further details. The family wishes to thank Robert of Caring Cremations for his patience, compassion and understanding while handling this family loss with such professionalism and friendliness. Aloha and Mahalo!"
